We were somewhere around Strip Steak on the edge of the Boulevard when the alcohol began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded: maybe you should drive…”. And suddenly there was a terrible roar all round us and we were in a room full of what appeared to be 70,000 wild animals all screeching, swooping and screaming.
Then it was quiet again.
For a moment.
Then I remembered we were here to cover the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction with 675 cars, 70,000 bidders, $32 million worth of sales, Seigfried & Roy, Clay Walker, Mike Tyson, Bryan Singer and best of all, Playperson Playmate of the Year (2012) Jaclyn Swedberg.
